1. How do I transfer / upload files to my web site?
The main method of uploading files to your site's account is by using FTP. You can use a built-in Windows or Internet Explorer FTP client, or some other software that supports FTP (such as CuteFTP, WS_FTP, or Windows Commander) to transfer files from your hard drive to your account. You can alternately use your account control panel's File Manager.
We suggest using dedicated FTP programs as the preferred solution because these programs have the best user interfaces and support advanced options like setting file permissions and resuming aborted file transfers.
2. My CGI scripts are not working!
There are several reasons why your CGI script is not working:
Reason 1: You have uploaded your CGI script in BINARY mode.
Please use ASCII mode when uploading your CGI scripts.
Reason 2: Proper file permissions on your script have not been set.
You must change the file permissions on any CGI programs to be world-readable and world-executable. Your FTP client most likely has an option to change the file permissions (or CHMOD). Just set the permissions on that file to 755, or Owner Read, Write & Execute, Group Read & Execute, and World Read & Execute
3. Why don't any of the changes show up on my site?
First, make sure that you save the file in order to see any changes. You should see the changes when you click the "View" link next to the file name in your File Manager.
More often than not you will be uploading your web pages in public_html directory. Check if the file has been uploaded to the correct directory or not.
If you don't see the changes to your file when you access your web page, hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard while clicking the "Refresh" or "Reload" button on your browser toolbar. This will completely reload your page and should show any changes you made.
4. Why am I unable to connect to the FTP server?
This may due to a line / Internet connection disruption. We request you to please reconnect to the Internet and try again at your convenience. Please also check the username and password you are using. They should valid and are case sensitive.
Please contact sales to make changes / additions to your hosting plan.
6. How do I renew or extend my hosting package?
Please deposit the payment in any local branch of ICICI as per instructions and details on the invoice. Then let us know.
7. I want to upgrade my hosting plan? How do I do it?
Please contact sales to make changes / additions to your hosting plan.
8. How do I change the password of my email-ids?
Log in to your control panel with your cPanel username and password. Once you are successfully logged in, click on "Mail" icon and then go to the link "Manage/Add/Remove accounts". Click on "Change Password" next to the email account names.
9. How can I redirect emails sent to my email-id on to another email-id?(Email Forwarding)
Use Webmail by going to yourdomain.com/webmail. Login using "Username = Your email address and your Password" in the box that appears. Then go to the "Forwarding Options" link and add your email address where you need to forward your emails.
10. I tried to send someone email but got a bounce message. Is something broken on your server or with my machine?
Email error messages usually mean what they say. For example, if your bounce message says, "mail box is full," the mailbox of the person you're trying to contact is probably full. If the message says "Unknown local part in domain yourdomain.com" then there is probably something wrong with the email address that has been entered in the TO: field, etc.
11. I've sent a few emails to other email-ids, neither have they reached nor bounced back to me, why?
This happens; if the remote SMTP is unable to receive emails due to heavy traffic, network congestion, mis-configuration or overwhelming requests or remote SMTP is down for some reason. Centaurhosting email server will keep those messages in queue for its next delivery attempt and will bounce it back to you only after it fails to deliver them in a fixed amount of time.
12. While downloading my emails, I get a message saying, "Your POP server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait for another 60 seconds", Why?
This happens if your email client has established connection with the mail server once and after that the connectivity has been lost. Probable causes are low speed Internet connectivity or network / connection problems etc.
14. I am receiving a number of bounced messages while I haven't sent any emails to anyone, Why?
This is a symptom of virus in your PC. Recent viruses/worms keep sending emails from infected PCs without the user's knowledge. If a machine is infected and is online, viruses use it to spread themselves through emails. They use their in-built SMTP engine and infected user's address book for sending those emails. Immediately clean your PC with good and updated anti-virus software. If you don't know how to do this, contact your hardware/software vendor for the same.
