cPanel Flash Tutorial: How to delete existing files and folders?
This cPanel Flash Tutorial will show you how to delete existing files and folders using File Manager in cPanel. You should always delete any files from your site that are no longer required. This will help keep the disk space that your website is using close to the amount of disk space that you have been allocated in your hosting plan. It also prevents search engines from indexing content that has become irrelevant for your company.
cPanel File manager includes a Trash folder, which operates similar to the Windows Recycle Bin. Deleted files are placed in the Trash Can Folder and can be restored by just a click. Only if you empty the Trash folder are the files permanently removed.
Steps
- Login to cPanel and then click on "File Manager ".
- Click on Folder Icons (and not names) to navigate to the file / folder that you want to delete.
- Click on the name (and not the icon) of the file / folder to display its properties in the top right portion of your screen.
